Occupational Therapist – Private Practice – NDIS focus – Melbourne

 

  • Port Melbourne private practice and the flexibility to work from home (in-time)
  • Full-time or Part-time. Minimum 18 Hours, up to full-time
  • Very supportive small team and intensive mentoring and supervision as required

Melbourne Occupational Therapy Services Pty Ltd specialise in providing home based OT services for adult NDIS participants who have physical disabilities. 

 

The Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity is currently available for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our supportive team.

Located in Port Melbourne, you will travel to meet with NDIS participants within a 40 min driving-radius of our base.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience working with adults with physical disabilities and challenges
  • Full AHPRA registration 
  • Current valid drivers licence and reliable vehicle
  • Empathetic mindset
  • Proficient with technology 

Desirable:

  • 2+ years of clinical experience
  • Experience working within the NDIS system
  • Experience in major home modifications
  • Experience in MAT assessments and wheelchair prescription 
  • Postgraduate qualifications as an Occupational Therapy Driving Assessor
  • Experience with Assistive Technology/Equipment prescription 

Responsibilities

  • Travel to clients homes for assessments and therapy sessions
  • Regularly research equipment
  • Accurate photos and drawings to facilitate home modifications
  • Attain quotes from suppliers and contractors
  • Complete detailed and accurate NDIS applications and reports
  • Manage/maintain your booking diary
  • Accurate and confidential record keeping
  • Meet KPIs
  • Communication with your clients and team
  • Exceptional communication skills
